Professor Gabriel Nani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Construction Technology and Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. He holds a doctorate degree in Building Technology specializing in procurement, contract management, and quantity surveying. Prof. Nani Gabriel is a fellow of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) and a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), UK. He is also a member of the Ghana Institute of Construction and an Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, UK. He has published over 60 scholarly articles relating to contract management, quantity surveying, procurement, and construction. He is a co-author of the Standard Method of Measurement of Building Works for Ghana (SMMG). He was the editor of the Quantity Surveyor, a magazine of the Quantity Surveying Division of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors. His extensive activity in construction research and practice resulted in his association with several construction projects. Prof. Nani Gabriel was adjudged the construction industry personality of the year at the Ghana Construction Industry Awards in 2015.
Prof. Emmanuel Appiah-Kubi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Kumasi, Ghana. He is currently the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Technical Education at AAMUSTED. He was also the Director for Quality Assurance, Planning and Accreditation at AAMUSTED (2021-2023). He worked as a Research Scientist at the CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (CSIR-FORIG), Kumasi from 2010 to 2019. He had his BSC, MPhil and Ph.D. Degrees in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. He also a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (PGDTLHE). He has had a lot of international internships and research stays in institutions such as the Georg- August University of Goettingen, Germany (during PhD study) and the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), Biel, Switzerland (during MPhil study). He is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) and a Professional Engineer (Civil/Structural Engineer). He has a lot of experience in both the construction and wood industries in Ghana and is currently a member of ISO Technical Committees ISO/TC 165 (Timber Structures) and ISO/TC 296 (Bamboo and Rattan) as well as an expert for INBAR and belongs to INBAR Task Forces for Bamboo Construction and Rattan. He is an EDGE Expert under the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group. He is an Alumni Ambassador for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Ghana. Prof. Appiah-Kubi’s research interest is in the development of affordable high- quality innovative local construction materials and technologies. He has been involved in the design and construction of several green (sustainable) infrastructure projects.
